Oborniki Wielkopolskie 20-08-2024
Railway line No. 354 Poznań Główny PoD – Piła Główna.
Railway line No. 354 Poznań Główny PoD – Piła Główna was put into operation on May 15, 1879. Track gauge 1435 mm. Length of the line is 92.538 km.
Initially, the line was single-track, but the engineering structures were already prepared for two tracks. The second track was added after 1886. In connection with the regaining of sovereignty by the Republic of Poland in 1922, the Dziembówko – Piła Kalina section was liquidated. The Piła Kalina – Piła Główna section remained in German hands. After 1922, PKP liquidated one track on the Rogóżno Wielkopolskie – Dziembówko section, and the tracks were used on other PKP routes. After the Germans’ aggression against Poland, on September 1, 1939, the occupier opened traffic on the entire Piła – Poznań route. In 1945, the Soviets dismantled the second track on the Złotniki – Oborniki Wielkopolskie Miasto section. In 1971, the second track was rebuilt on the Oborniki Most – Złotniki station section.
In the period 1988-1990, the entire Poznań-Piła route was electrified. During the electrification, wires were also laid on the second tracks in the Oborniki area, which were no longer used because they were waiting for renovation. In March 2018, a major renovation of the route began, together with a change of the track layout at stations, replacement of tracks, control systems, renovation of platforms, renovation of rail-road crossings and others. The main renovation was completed in October 2018 and freight and passenger traffic was restored.
Currently (2024), the route is still single-track on the Oborniki Most (25.395 km) – Dziembówko (82.098 km) section. The lack of a second track is used by local politicians as their important goal to achieve. This is just talk, because the line is of national importance and decisions should be made in Warsaw. The idea could not be implemented when the United Right was in power, and the Coalition of December 13 (folksdeutsche, communists and freemasons), which is systematically destroying Poland, will not be able to implement it. The first element to recreate the second track is the construction of a second bridge over the Warta River and, which is very important, the construction of a grade-separated intersection along Łukowska Street (DW Nr 187), right next to the Oborniki Wielkopolskie Miasto stop. A second bridge must also be built over the Noteć River. It must also be remembered that along the entire route, most intersections with roads are at the level of the tracks, which is not conducive to safety. A positive example is the construction of the S11 Expressway.
