Słonice village.
The Słonice settlement is a small village in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, in Choszczno County, Krzęcin commune. In Germanic times, it was called Kleeberg. In 2007, 82 people lived here. There are agricultural areas, wind farms and wind farms here.
Słonice Railway.
The railway station on the new LK Stargard – Krzyż Wielkopolski – Poznań, was established in 1848, as a technical station. At that time, it received the Germanic name Kleeberg. Currently, it is LK No. 351 Poznań Główny – Szczecin Główny. The Słonice railway station is located at 127.315 km of the LK.
Railway line No. 351 Poznań Główny – Szczecin Główny, it is a mostly double-track line, of national importance, electrified with 3 kV DC current. The line runs from the south-east to the north-west. Line length 213,500 km. Maximum speed 160 km/h. Electrification of LK No. 351 took place in stages; On 27 June 1975, Poznań Główny – Rokietnica. On 8 September 1977, Rokietnica – Krzyż. On 21 June 1978, Krzyż – Choszczno. On 15 December 1978, Choszczno – Szczecin.
Słonice Station is identical to Bierzwnik Station. The station was built on the village side, on the north-eastern side, right next to the railway crossing on Szkolna Street. Słonice Station is a small, multi-body building. The main part of the building is two-story. There was an apartment on the upper floor. Two single-story wings were added to the building. There was a warehouse on the Stargard side. On the track side, there is an extension that serves as the “Sn” signal box. The building is covered with a roof with a small slope. There was a ticket office in the building, which was closed in 2009, as well as a small waiting room.
There was never a water tower or a locomotive shed at Słonice Station. On June 1, 1881, a loading bay was opened here. There were two signal boxes at the station: “Sn” in the station building and “Sn1” in the station head on the Stargard side. After a major modernization of LK No. 351, in the period 2021-2024, computer control was introduced, and the automation was placed in a container building. The semaphores are light. There is a traction substation “Słonice” at the station.
In the period 2019-2024, a major modernization of LK No. 351 (E59) was carried out on the sections; Dobiegniew – Słonice and Słonice – Choszczno, as part of the project “Works on the E 59 railway line”. As a result of the modernization, the train speed was increased to 160 km/h. As part of the works, the tracks, switches with drainage were replaced, engineering structures and the traction network were rebuilt. In addition, the stations and platforms, which were adapted to serve disabled people, underwent modernization. The value of works on these sections amounted to approximately PLN 400 million.
The new platforms were included in the new track layout of the station. Platforms 1 and 2 are island, double-edged, 200 m long, with a roof. The platform height is 0.76 m, from the railhead. The platform has benches, rests, railway information display cases, audio system, monitoring, lighting, waste bins. The platforms are accessible to the disabled. Access to the platforms is from the side of the rail-road crossing and is secured with automatic barriers. There is no access from the side of the former station.
The station is served by PolRegio trains. On October 29, 2024, 12 trains departed from the station to: Poznań Główny, Szczecin Główny, Świnoujście Port. The station serves up to 50 passengers per day.
