The luggage wagon type 209C, Class 2, was developed in 1971. In 1974, one copy was built, which was designated type 208C. It was probably a prototype, for the production series of type 209C. The wagon used type 7AN rolling bogies. Serial production began; 20 units of type 209C and 80 units of type 209Ca were built. The factory painting was olive, while in the period 1993 – 1996, it was repainted in brown and cream.

Most of the wagons were withdrawn around 2003. This was at the time when postal wagons were withdrawn from use. The cars that were removed from the inventory were mainly sent to Sokołów Podlaski, where they were physically liquidated. Only a few examples survived the liquidation of the cars.

One example has been preserved in the Railway Enthusiasts’ Club in Wrocław. The car was manufactured in 1975, at the PaFaWag plant in Wrocław, as type 209Ca. Serial number 3171. PKP number 515195-88097-3 series Dwx. Since 1993, the number has been changed to PKP number 505195-18036-7 series Ds. Currently, 2025, the car is awaiting repair to the level of an exhibit.
